What is Social Checkup?
Social Checkup is an Instagram audit and creator analytics tool. Enter any public Instagram profile on the website, or open it with the Social Checkup Chrome extension, to see a creator grade, engagement compared with similar-sized accounts, estimated sponsorship rates and signs of fake engagement.
Is Social Checkup free?
Yes. The Free plan gives you 2 reports a day, each showing average likes, average comments, the like-to-comment ratio and follow ratio. A full report for a single profile is €10, one-off. Pro unlocks the creator grade, engagement benchmarks, sponsorship estimates, bot-risk scoring and posting cadence.
Do I need to give Social Checkup my Instagram password?
No. Social Checkup never asks for your Instagram login and never posts, follows or messages on your behalf. It only analyses information that is already public on a profile. You sign in to your Social Checkup account, not to Instagram.
Where does the data come from?
From public profile information and the most recent posts on the account. Data is collected on our servers, never in your browser, and cached for up to 24 hours so repeat lookups are instant.
How is the creator score calculated?
The score out of 100 blends five signals: engagement compared with accounts of the same size, audience authenticity, posting activity, Reel reach and consistency between posts. Every number on the card has a plain-English explanation when you hover over it.
How accurate are the sponsorship estimates?
They are a negotiation guide, not a quote. Estimates start from audience size and adjust for engagement quality, Reel reach and bot-risk signals. Real rates also depend on niche, usage rights, exclusivity and deliverables.
What does the bot-risk score mean?
It summarises public warning signs of inflated engagement, such as engagement far below what similar accounts get, unusual like-to-comment patterns or Reels that reach very few followers. It cannot see individual followers, so treat it as a screening signal, not a full audit.
Does it work on private accounts?
Private accounts do not share their posts publicly, so Social Checkup can show the profile basics but not engagement metrics.
Which browsers are supported?
Google Chrome on desktop, and most Chromium-based browsers that install extensions from the Chrome Web Store.
Is Social Checkup affiliated with Instagram?
No. Social Checkup is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Instagram or Meta.
